CivAll Social sends notifications in two places: inside the app and by email. Your choices apply to you only. They do not change what your teammates receive.
Where notifications show up
The bell icon sits in the top bar, at the top right of every screen. A red badge on the bell shows how many notifications you have not read yet. Above nine, it shows 9+.
Click the bell to open Notifications. Your most recent notifications are listed, newest first.
- Click a notification to mark it read and go straight to the related screen, such as the Planner, Approvals, Accounts, or the Inbox.
- Mark all read marks every notification as read.
- Dismiss a read notification by hovering over it and clicking the X.
- Clear all removes every notification from the list.
When the list is empty, you see “You’re all caught up.”
Open your notification settings
- Click the bell icon in the top bar.
- At the bottom of the list, click Manage notifications.
- The Manage Notifications window lists each notification type with two switches: In-app and Email.
- Turn each switch on or off.
- Click Save preferences. CivAll confirms with “Preferences saved.”
Click Cancel to close the window without saving.

Note
The Manage Notifications list also includes notifications for other CivAll products, such as CivAll Archive. This article covers the CivAll Social ones.
Notifications you can’t turn off
Some messages always reach you and do not appear in Manage Notifications:
- Account disconnected. When a connected account loses access and needs to be reconnected, the person who connected it always gets an in-app notification and an email. A disconnected account cannot publish, so this alert can’t be switched off. See Reattaching accounts & why they detach.
- Sign-in and account emails. Invitations, sign-in codes, and password reset emails always send by email.
Good to know
- Approvers should keep Post submitted for approval on. It is how CivAll tells you a post is waiting for you. If you turn off both switches, you need to check Approvals yourself.
- Account alerts go to the person who connected the account. Other teammates, including admins, do not receive them.
- Account alerts don’t repeat right away. CivAll sends at most one alert per account in each 12-hour period on each channel.
- Turning a notification off only stops new ones. Notifications already in your list stay there until you dismiss or clear them.
