Reply
- Open a conversation and type in the reply box (placeholder “Write a reply…”). To answer a specific comment rather than the post, click Reply on that comment first.
- Click Send Reply. Replying to a comment needs reply-comments rights; replying to a DM needs reply-DM rights.
Replies always attribute to the person who sends them.
Moderate a comment
On networks that support each action, an incoming comment offers:
| Action | Details | Networks |
|---|---|---|
| Hide comment / Unhide comment | In the comment’s … menu. Hiding removes it from public view on the network; reversible, no delete. On YouTube a hidden comment shows Held for review. | Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, Threads (top-level replies only), YouTube |
| Like / Unlike | Likes/unlikes the comment from your page. | Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn |
Important
Hiding and liking comments both require reply-comments rights — there’s no separate moderation permission in CivAll. (This is simpler than Social News Desk, which split these into separate gates.) Your page’s own comments can’t be hidden. Comments can’t be deleted from CivAll.
Assign a conversation
- Open the Assign dropdown in the conversation header. You need reply rights on the account to use it.
- Choose a teammate — the list includes users who can read that account’s comments (or its DMs, for a direct message). Selecting assigns immediately.
- To hand off, just pick someone else; to clear it, choose Unassigned.
A conversation has one owner at a time, and the assignee gets a notification. Assignment is manual.
