An archive that has quietly stopped capturing is worse than no archive, because you find out at the worst possible moment. Two columns on the Archives page exist so you never have to take capture on faith.
Source health
Source health describes the account's connection to the network — the access token capture depends on. The cell shows a dash when there is nothing to report, and a badge when there is.
| Value | What it means | Action |
|---|---|---|
| — | No problem found with the connection, or its health could not be checked just now | None |
| Reconnect by date or Expiring soon | Still capturing, but the token has a deadline | Reconnect before the deadline to avoid a gap |
| Token expired or Token revoked | Capture has stopped | Reconnect the account to resume |
| Source disconnected | The account was removed in CivAll Social | Re-add it there to resume capture |
| No token – import only | The archive holds imported records only; nothing is being captured | Connect the account to start capturing |
| Ready to capture | An import-only archive whose account is connected | Choose Start capturing from the row's actions menu |
| Account not resolved yet | An import-only archive whose connection could not be checked yet | None |
When any archive has stopped capturing, a banner above the table says how many sources need reconnecting. Choose Show them to filter the list down to those archives.
State
State describes the archive itself, separately from its connection.
| Value | What it means |
|---|---|
| Active | The archive is capturing |
| Activating… | The archive is active, and captured records are still being attached to it — counts may shift |
| Paused | Capture was paused from the row's actions menu. Choose Resume capture to restart it |
| Import only | The archive holds imported records and is not capturing |
| Detached | Capture is inactive for this archive |
| X add-on required | X capture is paused because the X archiving add-on is not enabled. Enabling it resumes capture — no reconnect needed |
Note
An archive can read Active while its Source health reads Token expired. State says nobody paused the archive; Source health says whether the network is still letting capture in. Read both.
The one that always needs action
Anything in the Source health column about the account's token means capture is at risk or already stopped:
- Token expired or Token revoked — capture has stopped. Reconnect the account to resume.
- Expiring soon or Reconnect by date — still capturing, but reconnect before the deadline to avoid a gap.
A gap created by an expired token cannot be filled in later on most networks. Reconnect promptly — see Reconnecting an archived account.
Warning
Networks expire access tokens on their own schedule, often without warning to the account owner. Whoever owns records compliance should check the Archives page on a regular cadence rather than waiting for something to look wrong elsewhere.
